We support SME business owners and directors to improve their commercial decision making, profitability and cash flow. Practical support, strategic guidance and fresh thinking is delivered from a solid financial perspective.
Most of the companies we work with have turnover of between £1m and £25m and don't yet have a full-time Finance Director. Based in Sheffield, UK, one of our most popular services is working closely as a trusted “right hand man” with the MD/CEO for a day or so a month.
We offer part-time Finance Director support, sometimes called a portfolio Finance Director/Chief Finance Officer (CFO), and also part-time Financial Controller/Manager support. You get the experience and contacts of someone who is available when you need them without the full-time cost. Involvement can include cashflow issues, forecasts, raising finance, dealing with third parties such as auditors/funders and developing the finance function to match growth in the rest of the business.
To give good advice we have to get a good understanding of both the business and you as an individual. Whilst initially discussions focus on finance, money comes with a cause. Sometimes major change is needed rather than a tweak. Or the other way. The root may be people and processes rather than investment. Or the other way. We are a sounding board beyond the traditional finance function.
